What does that mean? Here at the Co-op it starts with purchasing guidelines that all of our buyers follow. We do not buy food made with genetically modified organisms (GMOs), high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, growth hormones and always prefer to purchase organic. When you come into the Co-op, you do not need to worry about what you are purchasing.

Two former Wall Street traders are the creators of Element Truffles, specializing in all things chocolate, inspired by Ayurveda, the practice of traditional Indian medicine. One fourth of their profits are donated to teach underprivileged children in India.

Raw, vegan, plant-based, and sweetened with coconut palm sugar, Ashwagandha infused dark chocolate mix is made from raw, organic and fair trade Ecuadorian cacao that you have to taste to believe! It is handmade in micro-batches. Made with only four main ingredients, this mix turns into a decadent Barcelona style hot chocolate by simply adding water to it and bringing it to a boil.

Hummingbird, located in Eugene, Oregon, offers high quality, nutritious foods grown as locally and sustainably as possible. Established in 1972, Hummingbird remains a small, family owned and operated business focused on being a positive force for change in the food industry. The Silver City Food Co-op carries a variety of products from this company, including a delicious trio of trail mixes: Organic Hazel Munch, Organic Dark Chocolate Tropical Blend, and NW Trail Mix.

Tuscon Tamales "Blue" blue corn, veggie and cheese We take pride in the high quality and consistency of our delicious tamales. It all starts with the masa. The corn we use in our masa is organic and non-gmo. Many tamales are made with lard and we decided we wanted a healthier version so we use non-gmo expeller pressed canola or sunflower oil. We don’t use lard, We make everything ourselves – and you can taste the difference.
