Board of Directors
Our board of directors is made up of local Co-op member-owners who are elected by co-op membership to volunteer to influence and design the Co-op’s vision for the future and outline policies for our Co-op to follow.
Our Board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. This month, we will gather in the AV3 room of Miller Library, November 20th, from 5:30 -7:30 pm.
While the new store at 907 Pope Street is under construction, we will not have ZOOM available, but everyone is welcome to attend in person!

Our Objective
Acting on behalf of our owners, the Board ensures the the success of the cooperative by working together effectively, empowering and holding accountable professional management, providing strategic leadership for our cooperative , and perpetuating our democratic organization.

Policy Governance
Similar to many other non-profit organizations, we follow a system of governance called policy governance, a model intended to focus boards on the essential, and to ensure that they did not cause their organizations to fail either through "micro-managing" or "rubber-stamping" their executive's decisions.

The Silver City Food Co-op Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., and members are always welcome to attend, observe, and share their perspective during the member comments at the start of the meeting. Join us in the conference room of Little Toad Creek Brewery, 200 N. Bullard Street in downtown Silver City.

Have a Voice in your Co-op!
Do you have a comment or concern about the Co-op? Do you have a question about co-op policies or procedures that you would like to have answered? Make your voice heard by sending a message to our concern coordinator and we will reply as quickly as possible. Volunteer opportunities on board committees are also an option.
Serving on the Board of Directors
Co-op member-owned elect directors once a year, with a rotating schedule of candidates in an effort to maintain consistency and experience on the board. Election schedules vary each year. Find out more about how to join the Co-op board.
